Welcome to my DonorsChoose.org Giving Page, which I've started in lieu of a traditional Christmas list of "stuff". The stuff is not what makes me happy. What makes me happy is to help others, to feel like I can make a difference in the lives of family, friends, or (in this case) students and teachers that I'll never meet. I've been donating to Donors Choose for over 5 years - these donations provide support for K-12 teachers that do not have the resources they need to engage their students. I particularly love donating to science projects in low income areas. Many teachers have to buy their own supplies, but most teachers are not well-paid and can only afford to do so much. Teachers should not have to choose between their wallets and their students' education. I have received hand drawn thank you notes and heartfelt thank yous from children and their teachers. It is a very good feeling to know that a child is discovering amazing science as a result of a donation.
