I work in an environment in which getting school supply fee money is a joke. Many students in my area are homeless or transit students, these students don't have the necessary fees to get school supplies. Every day students enter my classroom without paper or pencil. Many students that might have a few nickles in change ask me to keep it for them so that they won't get robbed on their way home to their transit home or hotel.
