There are many high school students who live in poverty but have the ability to obtain a college degree if they had the money. This challenge will raise funds to pay for college proficiency tests (such as the College Level Examination Program- CLEP)or similar tests. The students will then transfer their scores to external degree colleges such as Thomas Edison State College (www.tesc.edu) or Excelsior College (www.excelsior.edu)which will award college credit and eventually degrees. ... more

This challenge will raise funds to pay for college proficiency tests (such as the College Level Examination Program- CLEP)or similar tests. The students will then transfer their scores to external degree colleges such as Thomas Edison State College (www.tesc.edu) or Excelsior College (www.excelsior.edu)which will award college credit and eventually degrees. Counseling will also be provided in addition to the counseling provided by the colleges. Excelsior has no age requirement. Edison has a minimum age of 21, but younger students who have 24 college credits (which can be earned by these tests) can petition for admission. hide
