Help me give my students outdoor games as well as a wagon to transport them back and forth in.

My Students

Our school is a rural school that serves many neighboring communities. We have a mix of abilities from those functioning several grade levels below their level, to those functioning much higher than their grade level. Our families are hardworking and do all they can to support their kids.

My students are rock stars and deserve everything, and if I could, I'd give them the world.

DonorsChoose.org and the amazing donors behind it help me at least open the window to that world and see what's out there. You also let them see that in this crazy, scary world, kindness is still there.

My Project

It's called school work, not play - right? The sad truth is, school has gotten harder and more stressful. With new curriculum, higher expectations, and technology, we're pushing our kids pretty hard. There's also the fact that kids are amazing with technology, but not so great face to face. They know how to communicate with emojis, but not words.

Failure and loss have become dirty words, and kids think they always have to be perfect - we need to just let them be kids and play.

Losing is never fun, but we learn so much about being good people, by being good winners, good losers, and good sports. So, I'm hoping to help that with this project. I'm hoping adding the variety of games will get them active and trying new things. There's a variety of options, from Frisbee Golf to Giggle and Go (an awesome game where you use frisbees to knock water bottles off their perch) to Jumbo Jenga. Games of strategy and cooperation. The wagon gives us a way to get the games from our classroom out to the playground.

I ask you to help me give my kids the opportunity to have some fun at school - some exciting, new games for recess, and and and easy storage/transportation option. Thanks for the support!
