My Students

The 11th grade students who will benefit from this project come from a variety of neighborhoods, socioeconomic backgrounds, ability levels, and needs.

Having a classroom library will provide a valuable resource for these students by giving them the ability to check books out for independent reading, use the books for in-class activities, have a variety of references, and also provide the opportunity for further differentiated instruction based on personal choice, increasing their engagement.

I am looking for books of all genres and lexile levels, to reach the widest range of students possible.

My Project

These books will provide students with the opportunity to easily access and explore a variety of literature from a range of authors they may otherwise have exposure to. Students will be able to check out the books for independent reading or differentiated assignments. Giving students choice and ownership of their learning will engage them more and hopefully create a classroom culture of exploration and thought. These students come from a variety of backgrounds and neighborhoods, and having easy access to such a variety of literature right in their classroom will create an equal opportunity for enrichment.
