My students are beginner learners. For most of them, kindergarten will be their first experience in school. They are active and ready to learn.
Kindergarten can be a fun and exciting year, but it is also a year filled with a lot of learning.
The students in my classroom come from all ranges of backgrounds. My classroom is full of all different races and ethnicities. I also have a few ESL (English as a second language) students. But their ethnicity or background does not matter when it comes to center time. My students enter my classroom every day ready to learn something new!
My Project
Snack time is an important part of our day in kindergarten. My students look forward to their afternoon snack to make it through their day, but they mostly crave unhealthy, sugary snacks. We all know that sugary snacks only keep us going for a little while and then we crash. The students and I decided having smoothies would be the perfect solution.
Smoothies are sweet, but also can be very nutritious and healthy.
We didn't have a way to make them, so we are requesting a quality blender and smoothie cookbook to help us make our smoothies in our classroom. Smoothies would be a great addition to our classroom. The students would be super excited to select a smoothie for snack from the cookbook, then help make the smoothie as our snack. This process will incorporate a lot of essential life skills and provide the students with a healthy snack.
