Credit Suisse 2009 Holiday Charity Initiative

For this year's Holiday Charity Initiative, DonorsChoose.org and the Credit Suisse Americas Foundation have partnered in support of K-12 public school teachers and students nationwide in an effort to impact 90,000 students. Be part of this partnership by supporting a classroom project that inspires you, whether its books or beakers, in Harlem or Houston, for second graders or sophomores. The Credit Suisse Americas Foundation will provide a 1.5:1 match on all employee donations.

Here are the basic steps:

  1. Click on your "GIVING PAGE" below (outside NYC, please use your CITY, not your department or division).
  2. Then choose a classroom project you'd like to support. You can choose to fund a project on your division's Giving Page, you can find your own project based on your interests, or if you don't want to shop at all, you can click "give to the most urgent project" and we'll distribute your donation.
  3. Proceed to check out as if making a regular donation. You can pay by credit card, PayPal or check. Be sure to enter your Credit Suisse e-mail address in the "Match" section of the check out page on the right.
  4. DonorsChoose.org will send you an e-mail about how to distribute the Foundation's match. If you're too busy to reply, don't worry, we'll make sure the match is awarded to another partially funded project by another employee in your division.

As your project receives funds, you'll get notices by e-mail. You'll also receive a thank-you note, photos, and a results letter from the classroom you choose to help. If you have a teacher in your life who you feel would be interested in posting a project on DonorsChoose.org, please click here.
