My students, and nearly all of the students at my school, come from low-income households and are eager for hands-on learning experiences. Most of them will not be afforded the luxury of gardening at home. Our school community is very tight-knit and most parents and students know and live very close to each other. As Prekindergarten students, this is their first experience with school and they are very enthusiastic about everything they learn and explore at school.
