I teach beginning band at three K–5 elementary schools with diverse, vibrant student populations. My bands are full of energetic, curious, and adventurous young musicians who are always eager to try something new. They feel safe in my classroom and know I care deeply for them—not just as students, but as people. Our district has a proud tradition of strong music programs, and I’m honored to help build that foundation. Teaching students to play an instrument is a gift. Watching them light up when they make their first sounds, play a favorite song, or discover a love for music is incredibly rewarding. These are the moments that make this work so meaningful.
