Our class is full of fabulous little five year old students, who love life and learning. They are so excited about learning to read. I can't wait to help them foster a love for reading and books that will last a lifetime. Our school is in a wonderful community of very supportive parents and families. Those families do all they can to help support and sustain this love for reading at home too. We have been fortunate enough to have funding to supply us with books and CDs, but we don't have more than one copy of each book. This makes it difficult for students to practice "Listen to Reading". They are resilient and try so hard to do their best, but at five, it's easy to get distracted when you don't have headphones and your own book. So, even with a single copy of each book, these iPods would make it possible for "Listen to Reading" to be a successful building block for each student.
