What if Daddy or Mommy were gone more than they were home? What if "gone" meant being overseas, even in harms way? The strain on the families I serve is real. Repeated deployments mean that in many cases kids and the parent (or grandparent when a single Mom is deployed) have to work harder to keep up with normal tasks. I try to pack the day with opportunities to learn. We use our classroom PC's to help get the kids online. I select websites to help the struggling kids step up, keep the kids on grade level growing, and challenge the high achievers. The sites range from Math sites like XtraMath and Sumdog to reading and language arts. They really help. These Chromebooks would help my kids SOAR!
