So despite this photograph being void of scholars this room is always full of life that my students bring into the classroom everyday. They are a group of kids that are trying to figure out their path through the constant battle of systematic oppression that has been the catalyst for much of the trauma in their lives. In this space we get to leave that all behind and focus on music, creation, and imagination. This is a true safe space for anyone that feels different. I'm currently using a cafeteria bench as a makeshift set of choir risers with a row standing on top of the bench and a row on the ground. Also, the keyboard is my personal one from home.
