I teach in our district's center-based program for Deaf/Hard-of-hearing students at the middle school level. Most of our students are 4-5 years below grade level in reading and at least 3 years below grade level in math. We work hard to meet our students where they are and teach them on their level. Materials that are low-level and still high-interest can sometimes be difficult to find. Collaboration is key in how we differentiate for each of our student's individual academic levels and needs.
