My students are 4th graders. Such a nice and outgoing group of kids that are eager to learn this year. We are a diverse school and city. I see all 3 homerooms for Science and Social studies, each filled with 33 students. We are over 75% free and reduced lunch and the largest ELL population in the district. Our kids come to school every day in a 114 year old building to learn. Our max capacity is 450 but this school year we are just over 550 students and still expanding. We have no music room, library, gymnasium, and playground. Which means specialists travel to classrooms. Student bathrooms are in the basement. Our cafeteria is up on the 3rd floor and when it is hot and humid it can get to almost 98 degrees up there. Half the windows in the building do not open. But through it all our students are the hardest workers in the district and hardly complain about it. But occasionally you will hear a few of them ask, why don't we have a gym like other schools? What does a library look li
