I work at a Title 1 school in the heart of Miami where you are more likely to hear Spanish spoken in our halls than English. Many of our students are transitioning to a new way of life hailing from many diverse Hispanic backgrounds. In our school we learn together, we work together, and we grow together. I take each day as a new chance, to start again, to reflect, and to work towards meeting the needs of my learners. As Albert Einstein once said "If you have never made a mistake, you have never tried anything new". Thus, everyday is a learning experience and every mistake is a teachable moment. When the community comes together, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. It takes a village to raise a child; parents, teachers, children, working together. That's where the magic happens.
