My students are from all over the globe. We have students who are refugees from the current wars in Syria and Afghanistan, from different Asian countries, Latinos from Mexico, indigenous immigrants from Guatemala, African Americans from Oakland and immigrants from Haiti to name a few. They are all working to find a common language with each other and their communities. They are funny, diverse and have different ways of showing their intelligence. They all have the ability to succeed and help make our world a better, more peaceful place.
