What might seem like a hodgepodge of a list, is actually a carefully crafted catalog of items that will not only help our classroom organization, but will provide our students with things that are fun and exciting. It will help create a positive and happy place for them and with that comes an enthusiasm to (willingly - ha ha) come back for more. Our classroom is already coming together quite nicely, but I'm looking to give our students the cherry on top, something to push our classroom engagement and commitment above and beyond! Many of these things will replenish items that I have purchased in the past. That's how I know they will love it; it's the little things that our students remember. The items I am most excited about are the plastic food trays. Since the students now eat breakfast in the classroom, this will hopefully prevent messy milk spills on the carpet and keep the crumbs contained. In addition, it provides students with independence and self-pride when they are able to easily clean up by tossing breakfast trash and rinsing and storing the tray. The items they will be most excited about are the prizes for our treasure box which they earn when they complete their rainbow (for the Build Your Own Rainbow behavior chart). And let's be honest, what kid doesn't love using stamps and WikkiSticks?
