Teaching a student how to sew and create something beautiful from scratch is a skill they will be able to use and teach generations to come. Students learn to make unique items that explore their creativity. Students are meeting after school for the Sewing Club where they will learn how to hand-stitch, as well as learning the basics of using a sewing machine. They will begin sewing their own homeware such as zipper pouches, pillowcases, tablecloths, curtains, face masks etc. We will then shift to fashion design and teach students how to make and repair their own garments. Learning to sew connects you to history, teaches you to value handmade, and can reduce your environmental impact.
