Graphic Design is a wide-ranging discipline, and there are many gateways to entry—typography, illustration, layout, animation, to name a few. Many of the design students at Southern have expressed a desire to pursue photography. By giving students an opportunity to develop this interest, they will learn how to use their photos in the context of larger-scale visual communication. This lighting equipment would help us convert a storage closet into a photography studio, which would give students the ability to develop a foundational skill in a portfolio that will lead them to work in the real world.

About my class
