Offering students the chance to choose to be comfortable while learning ultimately helps them engage more in class. My students often come to class and struggle to feel comfortable in their regular seats. I have carpet areas and clipboards, but I am looking to add the balance balls and a wobble seat to my classroom to give them more choices. My students enjoy taking control of their learning when they are working independently, and will move around the room to find spaces that help them work effectively. Some students struggle to move their bodies, and the balance balls will give them that chance, while allowing them to be able to focus on the task at hand. The wobble chair is adjustable, so that all students can use it comfortably, regardless of their height! I have witnessed how students can make great decisions and their behavior issues settle down when they can make decisions about where they can complete their work. These items will really help my students focus on their learning, and allow me to focus on helping their academics, and less on their behaviors!
