I have 25 bright, talented, creative, students in my 4th grade class. Ours is a charter school so all students in my classroom were awarded the opportunity to be here. These students must work hard to stay here. Parent expectations are incredibly high, while classroom and school resources are painfully limited. Students in this school community epitomize diversity. They are diverse in learning ability, skills, talents, prior knowledge base and personalities, family support and personal resources. Some have all the luxuries and advantages available in this modern society, while others can't type their book reports because they have no access to a computer or even to transportation to the public library. They each bring their individual opinions and ideas. Each and every one of them play their own unique and vital role in our learning process here in the classroom.
