My students are in a smallish school that is K-8. I have about 50 6th, 50 7th and 50 8th graders, and classes are mixed grades. My art program was just added this year and it's getting off the ground! Most of my students have been really excited for the art program. Since my students exposure to art has been minimal, and this is their first art class every art idea, and every art project is brand new to them! Every project my students are learning something new about their world, themselves, and what they can accomplish. I have been amazed at my students progress. I have seen their art literacy and understanding jump by leaps and bounds the last few months. My students creative output has been terrific and I'm surprised at what they have accomplished for their age level. I strive hard so my students to continue to learn, by making sure that my students have the supplies that they need to be successful.
