In accordance with our school's mission, I strive to provide a safe and supportive learning environment in which all students are empowered to become responsible citizens, creative problem solvers, and life-long learners. Ours is a high poverty, rural Maine school where half of the students are economically disadvantaged and qualify for free or reduced lunch. Additionally, classroom budgets have been cut 85% over the last few years. As such, seeking outside funding for large purchase items and supplementary learning materials has become necessary.
