They are the future. They are some of the brightest, creative, and funny students I have worked with. They truly have a thirst for knowledge and like to be challenged. It is important to me to give them as true to life scenarios when I teach. They are family in the school. It is small enough that everyone knows everyone, but big enough to serve a variety of grades. There are some that really thrive in the classroom; however, there is a large portion that needs motivation. Having the proper resources will ensure that I am doing my best to reach them. I know that they are counted out at times. I want them to have a strong voice and sense of self after they leave my class. I am not just an English teacher. I provide a lot of social and emotional support to my students. Being organized and wanting for nothing helps take some of the burden or stress of the job off of me.
