My students are all visual and tactile learners due to special medical diagnosis and genetic related disorders. My students get fully engaged when visuals are presented as part of their daily therapy sessions and treatment. Without games, visual realia, and exciting peer-structured activities, my students will not be able to become better communicators, not only within the classroom setting but with their peers, classmates, family, and everywhere they go. These materials will last for a long time and assist many children with disabilities for the years to come. I always say, "We don't describe the world we see - we see the world we describe. Language, as the single most fundamental force of the human intellect, has the power to alter perception. We think in words, and these words have the power to limit us or to set us free." With therapy, I love to empower my students and help them withstand living in this world.
