My students struggle with language and technology. My school is located in Chinatown and students don't have a lot of exposure or experience with common resources such as typing, researching online, communicating with teachers via email, access to e-books, or printing assignments. I am requesting a chromebook cart for my students. With daily access to chromebooks, my students will be able to toss away those broken pencils and paper and enter twenty-first century education. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' reading, writing, and researching skills so they can become active citizens and positive members of their community. Just as the colonists changed America forever by declaring independence, I want a revolution too! I want to turn my social studies classroom around with technology and academic skills. Advanced technology will support all learners including English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities. This project will allow me to create and keep track of student work and progress. They'll be able to collaborate together in the classroom and outside in the cloud. Having students work online will allow me to give students instant feedback on assignments whenever I have time and allow my students to refer back to academic work with ease when needed. This project will allow students to challenge themselves academically and work can be differentiated as needed with a stroke of the key. I hope all my students will become leaders of their own learning. Everybody deserves the best shot at education and I can't wait for my students to enjoy using their brand new chromebooks!
