My students elect to take my classes, so I am very lucky to have students that are motivated and audition to be with me each day. They come from great distances, some getting up at up as early as 4:30 AM to attend my AM advanced orchestra class which is offered at 7:00 AM. My Music Pod students take an exploratory music class where they learn all the basics about music including note reading, rhythm, and solfeggio. We teach them singing, low strings as well as creating "jingles" and negro spirituals. It is a comprehensive music class, but assumes they know nothing about music when they join.
