The materials used for the Paint -n- Poetry will allow students to experience learning and researching about the artists and poets of the Harlem Renaissance. They will draw an original art piece on canvas, and practice oral communication skills as they recite an original poem in the form of a Poetry Slam. Students will learn about the artists and poets of the Harlem Renaissance. Students will present their art work and poem at the Paint -n-Poetry. Their work will then be put on display in the school for everyone to see.
