My students are incredible children with unique strengths, personalities, and learning styles. I teach in a self-contained autistic support classroom for students in grades 3–5 at a public school in an urban community. My students have a wide range of abilities and needs, including communication, social, behavioral, sensory, and academic support. Many of my students learn best through hands-on, sensory-based, and interactive experiences that help them stay engaged and motivated. Movement breaks, visual supports, sensory tools, and play-based learning help build communication, self-regulation, independence, and academic skills in meaningful ways. With your support, I can continue creating a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom where every student feels successful, included, and excited to learn each day.
