My project will help my students and me feel safer as we return to our classroom with cleaner air. My students and I will be spending 5-6 hours a day in a classroom that has no windows that open and no circulation to allow any air flow. I owe it to my students and their families to try and create a safer and healthier environment for all of us.
Having a Germ Guardian air purifier in my room will give my classroom community some comfort in knowing the air we are breathing is getting circulated and purified with UV light and HEPA filters.
Replacement filters and bulbs would allow me to use the purifier for at least two school years. Besides hopefully filtering out any harmful germs, I know this unit will bring relief to the many students I have every year who are stricken with asthma. I'm excited, eager, and ready to do my best to make the best school year I can for my students; hopefully, with lots of clean air!
