Every day, my students enter the halls with one thing in common: they are refugees. They come to school with multiple backgrounds and various languages spoken between them. 13% of our population speaks English as their native language. Most students are reading at a third grade level and have yet to find a style of writing that piques their interest. My hope is to show them the beauty of books and what worlds are hidden within the pages.

About my class
