Throughout our lives, whenever we walk into a bookstore or a library, we immediately journey to a particular section of the building that peaks our top interests. Now imagine what a world would be if every time a student visited their classroom, there was a section of the room they could visit that inhabited theirs? Linda Christensen inspired me by saying "The books we choose to bring into our classroom say a lot about what we think is important, whose stories get told, whose are heard, whose are marginalized. Reading materials are the gateway to learning and understanding. I'm a firm believer that my room should be a reflection of everyone's interests, an array of topics, and an endless educational adventure. TFK will extend the learning pathway for years to come.
