My students are very good-natured dealing with our old lighting system--it's a remnant of the building's former use--but it means we are constantly having to move around to get the motion-sensor to "see" us. Every day after school I have students who stay for at least an hour for tutoring or to hang out with their classmates to finish homework or play board games. Since the daylight savings time change, we are literally in the dark! Having floor lamps to plug in will allow us to be able to enjoy and engage more actively after school without the disruption of the lights going on and off.
