Teaching autistic children has been an amazing experience. What's not amazing though is the lack of state funds for education and the extremely few resources we get from the school district. There are countless things our suburban counterparts have, such as a whiteboard vs chalkboards and accessible reading materials that are age appropriate but has a low readability level so older students can read. These things should be easily accessible to ALL children not just children outside of city limits. Donors choose provides a platform for me to advocate for my students and get materials. In return you get glimpses of my students and thank you's from them and me. Your donations affect how I teach in my classroom, my students self esteem, and help create an environment that they can lean more easily in. All donors here are true angels to myself and my students. Your generosity and kindness are blessings.
