My First Graders are eager to discover new things about the world around them. My students are primarily urban students who come from a majority latino background. Approximately 75% of my class are second language learners. When I recently asked them what they enjoy doing most, many of them responded painting. Unfortunately, they are rarely given the opportunity to explore this due to lack of resources. They are rarely given the opportunities to gain appreciation for artistic expression.
