Every teacher I know believes that our jobs hold some deeper purpose than test preparation. What is this purpose? I believe that we are imparting "wisdom" to our students that will allow them to grow into the real world and that we are providing our students with college and career ready skills. My students come to school everyday despite the hardships in their lives. Some are hungry, some haven't seen their biological parents in months, and some struggle with learning disabilities. However, one thing I try to do in the classroom is help my students appreciate beauty, something I believe that everyone can find. My students work hard to find the silver lining of every dark cloud.
