These material are being requested for a crochet/cross-stitch after school program. I believe that children should learn different ways in which they can use and put their imagination and creativity to work. This project will help me teach my students that fun and entertainment is not only found in social media or video games, but also in activities that can exercise the mind and produce physical and visible things that can be useful in their everyday lives. Crocheting and cross-stitching will allow my students to feel relaxed after a hard-working day, take breaks from social media and make items that will remind them and encourage them to use their creativity more often.
