We are a year-round school, and we've been in session since late July. My students are first graders trying to learn not only new concepts, but they are trying to learn them in a foreign language! Many of my students are highly motivated and like to show off their knowledge, but many others are shy and have a harder time volunteering to give answers. However, when I turn those questions into a game, or offer a fun way to answer them, they are much more willing to risk being wrong.
