At the center of our classroom, a large, well-worn colorful carpet is sectioned into 30 distinct square spots where the students gather for our morning meeting. Instead of individual desks, three low rectangular tables are surrounded by small chairs. We hand-labeled our cubbies in low wooden shelves for each student to have their own. We have different areas set up for choosing time. Our walls are full of students work, academic posters and friendly characters.
