It was such a lovely surprise to return from Christmas break with a refill of our necessary supplies, such as new markers, books to check out from the library, beads we use as rewards every week, and games to support their learning in reading. \r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to read the Owl Diaries books, and I have some really good readers in my class and my boys were immediately fighting over the Who Would Win books and I Survived. Getting children excited about reading is such a joy to see, thank you for making it possible! \r\n\r\nRight now, we are completing our Mission Reports and are using the Report Covers to complete them and make them more official. The students are so proud of their hard work and being able to display it like this. \r\n\r\nAfter Spring Break, we will be getting to use many of our Lakeshore learning games for reading context clues, grammar, vocabulary, and figurative language- all really important standards in fourth grade and these materials make the learning more fun and accessible for the students. \r\n\r\nAt the end of the year, we will be creating our fourth grade memory books with the astrobright cardstock, a special memory the students can keep for the rest of their lives. Every year I have students return and tell me they still have their memory books from fourth grade, and I also still have the memory books I make each year with my students, as well as ones from my own school days when I was in kindergarten and third grade. \r\n\r\nThank you again for impacting my classroom this year, and for many years to come as many of these materials I will be able to use again and again!","fullyFundedDate":1766513633064,"projectUrl":"project/making-learning-fun/9945561/","projectTitle":"Making Learning Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Irwin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5608938_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746821128739","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5608938"},{"teacherId":10008679,"projectId":9868739,"letterContent":"The funds made available from your company to support music classes at San Miguel Public School District have been used to purchase 30 thumb drums for k-8th grade students. The simplicity of the instrument has made playing melodies, chords, songs and even learning basic music theory accessible to students whom may have never had this opportunity before. These instruments use a basic numbered solfege system that allow students to better understand musical ideas and to develop their ears while playing and having fun. Because of their durability, I am able to use these instruments for every grade level and make a fun/learning lesson out of each time they are used. Students will get furter lessons on basic solfege number notation and memorization, learning basic nursery rhymes and performing them for the class, and eventually students will do small group performances for larger audiences and their parents. And there are a lot of interested students at San Miguel Lillian Larsen ready to play electric guitar. \r\n\r\nThis class is open to 5th-8th grade students and it will coincide with the band program that I am running as well. Students who commit to guitar with also join the band, unless they are doing other after school enrichment courses. It is my hope to make these students all around musicians to where they can pick up any instrument and figure out a tune. \r\n\r\nI would not be able to fulfill this idea of mine without your help and trust.","fullyFundedDate":1746411543564,"projectUrl":"project/afterschool-guitar-program/9296360/","projectTitle":"Afterschool Guitar Program","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. F","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10008679_orig.png?crop=216,216,x110,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745957430661","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10008679"},{"teacherId":4292880,"projectId":9353457,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kindness in supporting our classroom.
