These materials will be used with over 60 fifth grade students at our elementary school. I teach PE to three fifth grade classes during the week, and these tools will be used for indoor and outdoor activities. This Sportime Starter Kit allows students to enjoy PE activities without rough physical contact. The kit will accompany the Spark grade 3-6 curriculum. This curriculum provides lesson plans focused on movement, coordination, body awareness and teamwork. Previous purchases for the spinning plates, juggling scarves and speed stack cups can be used for indoor competitions, when the weather is rainy. Other materials, like the neon practice vests, will be used for easy identification during outdoor team games. The 50-foot tug of war rope will be used for class to class competitions.
