My classroom is in dire need of an area rug! My kids love to gather around me and listen to me read science driven story books. They love to learn by standing up, sitting under desks or gathering around a table to do group projects. They love flexible seating but are very limited to do this because we have no reliable furniture, so we made due by sitting on tables or under their desks. The chairs in my classroom are all mixed matched and they lose their screws more frequently than what we would like, as well as their desks. A rug, stools, chairs, and a bookcase with a reading nook will help my children learn and focus! Small group instruction as well as flexible seating has proven to be an excellent way of learning for children. Coming from a very low performing Title 1 school anything that will help is worth a try!
