Kindergarten is a critical year for building literacy foundations and sparking an early love for learning how to read. My goal is for every child in my classroom to be reading on grade-level by the end of kindergarten. My students spend close to an hour daily reading leveled books both independently and with a partner. In my classroom, I have a wide variety of reading abilities. The books purchased through this project will be used to put "just right" books in the book baskets of all students in my classroom. These books will be used to practice basic reading foundations while growing into independent, confident, successful readers. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase students reading academic achievement, you will ultimately help to increase their love, confidence and excitement for reading!
