This project is for materials for our Mesoamerica unit. Students have been learning about all the different civilizations that made up Mesoamerica. Right now we are focusing on the Aztecs and their technological advances. One of them being their pyramids and temples. This project will help them understand the importance of the temples and why gods were so important to all the different Mesoamerican civilizations. Students will use these materials to work on an amazing Aztec project where they get to build their own Aztec pyramid for an Aztec god. They get to choose between a Warrior god or Sun god. It is their job to build and decorate a pyramid with the things that represent an Aztec god. The ancient Aztecs believed in many gods and goddesses. Each god had a job to do. The sun god, for example, brought the sun up every day. The Aztecs believed it was important to keep the sun god happy. They truly believed if the sun god was not happy, he would refuse to bring up the sun.
