In my class, my students have great potential to become great authors. I am encouraging my struggling readers and writers to become great writers of tomorrow. I use mentor texts to teach this process. Students then choose an author they especially enjoyed reading and use that author to guide their writing. After writing their first and second draft, they are required to type their final work. Also when writing about an author, students need to do research on the author. This is where the need for laptops in my classroom is absolutely necessary! Having laptops in my classroom will definitely improve my students' school life because it will connect them to the information highway. The future of our students depends on their knowledge of technology. The only place for my students to gain access is in the classroom. This is the place that will help them become successful for the future. Technology is their future!
