My class is an ICT kindergarten class. Our school is a special place with a rich composition of children from diverse backgrounds, particularly serving a large population of English Language Learners and students with disabilities. Many of our students come from families that face financial hardships that limit accessibility to technology. In my class, we have all different types of learners. Each student has different strategies that help them learn better. Some students benefit from visuals, having text read aloud to them, flexible seating, being able to physically manipulate materials or having the ability to speak to write/type. Most of my students work best when they see materials in color versus black and white. STEM has the ability to create many different opportunities for these children. The first time that I saw my class complete a STEM activity in their Computer Science class, I was in shock!
