"Whooo's Reading" is a 21st century upgrade to the old-fashioned reading log system to keep track of daily reading, both in the classroom and at home! It holds students accountable to make sure they are meeting their goals and growing their reading. Unfortunately, many free, online book platforms merely ask students true / false questions to assess their understanding--but this program actually has them cite evidence from their text, which is one of the skills 8th graders need to improve their reading comprehension! The program also allows teachers to give meaningful feedback within the site so that students can work on their writing as they respond to questions as well. This is extremely beneficial as it encourages students to improve, and gives specific paths to do so.
