After 8 years teaching 3rd and 5th grade, I am enthusiastically beginning a new journey as a middle school visual arts teacher. I am teaching grades 5 - 8 in a public school in New York City. The school is in a high-need community where most students receive free breakfast and lunch 12 months of the year. The population of my school is very diverse - including a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and a wide range of student needs.
