  • Hard Working Drumline Needs Drums

    Funded May 9, 2018

    Thank you so much for supporting our student drumline. Even though we just started the program this school year, it has become an institution! The drumline has brought so much joy to the school. When our Special Olympics team returned from competition last week, drumline led them in a parade through the school building. Since that performance, I have had even MORE students expressing interest in joining the group! They sound great, and look so cool! Thanks to your donation of this new Quad drum, another kid will be able to join drumline, and have the life-changing experience of playing music in a group.”

  • Drumline Dreams

    Thank you so much for supporting this project. This bass drum will give one more student the chance to participate in drumline, a life-changing musical activity. The kids are so motivated and are working really hard! We marched and played outside last Friday, and the kids were beaming with pride as passersby and parents honked and waved. Thanks for helping us out. This drumline is great for the kids and the community, and the additional drum and harness allows us to be even more inclusive by accepting another student to the program.”

  • Sound Stories

    Thank you so much for the instruments for our classroom! The materials arrived today, and the students are beyond excited to play with them. We read a story, "Dragon Tooth", and each character was personified by a different instrument. The kids had so much fun playing the ratchet when the dragon appeared, and the temple blocks for the loose tooth! The little girl, Sara, was the wind chime. The instruments made the story come alive, and the experience was memorable and fun.

  • Listening for Life

    Thank you so much for donating to this cause. My students will now have a music listening center they can take turns using during music class. Going to this center will be a special reward. Having high-quality headphones will make the music come alive for the kids. Listening to good music with good sound quality will make my students love music for life, and make them want to explore their musical interests!

  • Crash! Boom! Bang!

    Thank you so much for supporting the Dawes School drumline. Your donation towards drums and cymbals has allowed for a few more students to join this popular after school class! The students are so excited about drumline, and have been working really hard so we can be ready to perform for a local 5K run. Last Friday, we practiced outside the school, marching around the building. Community members and parents driving by were honking and waving: the kids were glowing with pride. These new instruments have energized our school and community. Thank you so much.”

  • Girls Rock!

    Thank you so much for the smaller guitars and the stand. They are helping my students greatly by boosting their confidence while playing the guitar. Two of the guitars are pink! This has been really fun for the group, with both the boys and girls clamoring to play the pink ones at the start of class! Your donations have helped re energize our guitar class by providing the functional, right-size instruments that we desperately needed to achieve success. Learning is so much easier now!   • Music Heals

    These drums have become an amazing outlet for my students. The kids that signed up for drumline are so excited, they can't stop talking about it. When we opened the boxes and tuned the drums, the excitement was palpable. What a great moment for the teacher and the student! Now that they realize that playing in a drumline takes discipline and hard work, they are buckling down and making it happen! We will play our first gig in May, and the kids are practicing so hard to be ready to bring down the house with a few rockin' cadences!

    Yeah! Thank you so much for supplying our music classroom with the cords and cables we need to connect our microphones, and a new guitar amplifier. Thanks to these supplies, my youngest students are getting to discover the magic of singing into a microphone! The microphone has been a huge motivator with my younger students, and my older musicians have been able to spread their wings, so to speak, with the microphones.
