Soccer is a love affair for my students who live in South Central LA as Roy Maurice Keane describes. After starting the soccer team for our middle school students who do not have PE as a class, it kept them busy after school and out of trouble. Since they have to keep their grades up to be on the team, it kept them studying and motivated to do well in school. Since it is instilled in them that they are leaders on our campus, it keeps them out of trouble and setting good examples. It creates leadership and brings all types of students together because of their love of the game. Unfortunately, we need new equipment such as soccer balls in order to continue to practice and have them continue to grow. Last year they won first place in our soccer tournament because of their love and dedication to this beautiful sport. With their recent success, more students than ever want to play and learn. Please help my students continue to grow with new soccer balls!

About my class
